Industry is the leading force in China's national economy and provides a material basis for technological transformation in all sectors of the national economy.After more than 40 years of reform and opening up,China's industry has achieved leaping development.However,while China's industry has made great progress on the extensive development mode of high investment,high energy consumption and high pollution for a long time,resources and the environment have paid a heavy price.The exhaustion of resources,insufficient energy and environmental pollution have become short It is an inevitable way for industrial modernization to develop in a green,efficient and green way.Increasing total factor productivity is one of the important contents of transforming industrial development mode.Green total factor productivity including energy and environmental factors is an important indicator to measure the quality of industrial development.The improvement of green total factor productivity is the result of technological progress,and the path of technological progress is the source of technological progress.Therefore,the choice of technological progress path is directly related to the change of green total factor productivity.Although there are existing literatures on green total factor productivity,few literatures have studied the green total factor productivity of Chinese industry;at the same time,comparative research on the impact of different technological progress paths on industrial green total factor productivity is still blank.It is of great theoretical and practical significance to understand the changes in industrial green total factor productivity at this stage and study the impact of different technological progress paths on green total factor productivity on the basis of improving industrial green total factor productivity.This paper first analyzes the mechanism of technological progress path on green total factor productivity from two perspectives of total factor productivity and environment.The analysis shows that there is uncertainty about the impact oftechnological progress path on green total factor productivity.Secondly,the DEA-Malmquist index method is used to measure and decompose the green total factor productivity of Chinese industry from 2010 to 2018,and analyze the current status of green total factor productivity from the perspective of regional and time trends.Finally,according to the characteristics of green total factor productivity,from the national and regional levels,the empirical analysis of the impact of four major technological progress paths such as independent research and development,domestic technology purchase,foreign technology introduction and foreign direct investment on green total factor productivity.The measurement and decomposition of industrial total factor productivity found that:(1)industrial green total factor productivity is lower than traditional total factor productivity,and green total factor productivity needs to be improved;(2)technological progress plays a leading role in increasing industrial green total factor productivity.The path of technological progress is the main driving force to achieve technological progress,and technological progress is the main source of the improvement of green total factor productivity.Therefore,the path of technological progress has an important impact on green total factor productivity.An empirical analysis of the impact of technological progress paths on green total factor productivity found that:(1)At the national level,spontaneous development,domestic technology purchases,and foreign direct investment have a significant promotion effect on industrial green total factor productivity,and foreign technology introduction significantly inhibits The improvement of green total factor productivity;(2)At the regional level,independent R& D only has a significant positive effect on green total factor productivity in the eastern region,domestic technology purchase has a significant promotion effect on the central and western regions,and the introduction of foreign technology Significantly hindered the increase in green total factor productivity in the central and western regions,and foreign direct investment has a significant positive impact on all three regions.
