| Developing digital economy is an important support for building a new development pattern.It is an important engine for building a modern economic system.It is the inevitable choice to build the new advantage of national competition.The coordinated development of digitalization and greening is an inherent requirement for the high-quality development of China’s economy and society.It requires not only the development of digital economy to promote the green transformation of the economy and technological innovation to solve the difficulties and pain points in the green process,but also the government’s policy innovation and institutional innovation to stimulate the potential of the synergy of digitalization and greening.This thesis selects panel data of 249 prefecture-level cities in China from 2004 to2020 to study the impact of digital economy on green total factor productivity.This thesis constructs an evaluation index system for the comprehensive development level of digital economy to measure the digital economy,uses the directional distance function and combines the global reference GML index to measure the green total factor productivity,uses the two-way fixed effect model to test the relationship between the digital economy and the green total factor productivity,and uses the instrumental variable method,PSM-DID.The robustness of the conclusion is verified by eliminating outliers,substituting variables and econometric models.This thesis uses the mediation effect model to test the mediation effect of technological innovation and industrial structure,and analyzes the heterogeneity of location and time dimension.It is found that digital economy can improve urban green total factor productivity.Heterogeneity analysis shows that the positive effect of digital economy is larger in eastern and central cities,but smaller in western regions.The positive effect of digital economy is greater in coastal cities than in inland cities.After 2012,the positive effect of digital economy was large,but before 2012,it was small.This thesis analyzes the intermediary effect of technology innovation.The indirect effect of digital economy promoting urban green total factor productivity through technology innovation accounts for 53.6% of the total effect,and the intermediary effect of technology innovation is heterogeneous.Therefore,promoting the orderly development of digital economy and formulating appropriate policy suggestions will help further promote the development of green economy in Chinese cities.The two-way development of digital economy and green economy requires appropriate policy coordination.The details include:First,compared with the impact on economic growth brought by mandatory measures to limit enterprise emissions,vigorously developing digital economy is more conducive to green and sustainable development.Second,we should coordinate the impact brought by the difference between the development of digital economy and the development of green economy among cities and strive to promote the common development of cities.Third,we should step up research and development of basic digital technologies and continue to improve the guarantee system for the development of the digital economy. |
