There are many geological hazards in China which have an influence on the economic development and modernization of country.These hazards can cause huge economic losses and casualties annually.Landslide is the most frequent one among these hazards.Due to its special geological and environmental conditions,Xinjiang is rich in oil and gas.Pipeline transportation has been taken as the primary way to transport these resources to all parts of China.However,landslide hazard is one of the main risk sources of shallow buried oil and gas pipeline.In order to reduce the threat of landslides to oil and gas pipelines and provide a scientific theoretical basis and method for policymakers and managers to prevent and control landslides.This paper makes 10km on both side of the West-to-East natural gas transmission project in Guozigou as study area and taking elevation,slope,aspect,NDVI,stratum lithology and the distance from road into consideration based on Chinese high resolution satellite data and field survey with information method.What is more,the information system of landslide hazards for Guozigou has been designed and completed by using ArcGIS Engine which has realized the regionalization and scientific management of the landslide hazard in the study area.After these works,conclusions and productions have been made as follows.(1)The landslide risk assessment based on information model and evaluation system were completed in the study area.The landslide risk in the study area can be divided into four levels:stable area,low risk area,middle risk area and high risk area according to the information model and it's result by natural breakpoint method.All grades accounted for 21.41%,34.65%,33.05%and 10.52%of the total area of the study area respectively.The area covered by the "high risk zone" is 10.52%of the total area.(2)A system of landslide hazards for this area was realized.Several basic functions were realized such as querying,showing,uploading,and outputting of those information in system.What's more,some spatial analysis functions were added to this system,like buffering,victor-raster exchanging,overlapping and spatial interpolation.The information model algorithm was built in this system,which can be used to calculate landslide hazards by taking different factors into consideration.In order to reduce the difficulty of system maintenance and make it convenient to add new functions,this system has designed a dynamic expansion module to fit these demands.
