The lichen genus Biatora Fr.belongs to Ramalinaceae,Lecanorales,Lecanoromycetidae,Lecanoromycetes,Pezizomycotina,Ascomycota,Dikarya,Fungi. The species within this genus comprise crustose lichens with green algal photobionts.thallus surface green or grayish white, but turned pale yellow in old specimen;biatorine apothecia, rounded, disc yellow brown;paraphyses simple or weakly branched and anastomosing, hard to separate;asci of Biatora-type;8-spored;ascospores colorless, narrowly ellipsoid, mostly simple or 1-(3)-septate.the genus of Biatora is widely distributed in the world, but the extra-European and north America taxa have not received any systematic treatment.About 48 species of the Biatora are reported in the world,2 species in the China.Due to the lack of systematic study on the genus Lichen in China,in order to understand the type, distribution and growth environment of the genus Lichen in China, this preliminary study on the genus Lichen in China was conducted. The about 380 specimens of Biatora from Shandong Normal University(SDNU),Herbarium Mycologicum Academiae Sinicae-Lichenes(HMAS-L),and the Fungarium College of Life Sciences Liaocheng University(LCUF).This materials collected mainly from 14 provinces and autonomous regions in China.Such as Xinjinang,Xizang,Neimenggu,Jilin,Yunnan etc.Using the methods which study the morphological of the lishens, anatomy, chemistry color test and thin-layer chromatography,to report 16 species in China, including 12 new record species in China: Biatora alaskana,Biatora.alborufidula,Biatora.longispora,Biatora subduplex?Biatora nobilis?Biatora subgilva?Biatora pacifica?Biatora pallens?Biatora radicicola?Biatora printzenii?Biatora alnetorum?Biatora meiocarpa.Using the traditional taxonomic methods to report the species composition and distribution of the Biatora from China in the first time. All species are described and maked a key.The main identification feature pictures of this genus of Biatora and some feature pictures of new record species are provided. This study fills in the gaps in the systematic treatment of the Biatora in the China, and provides data to deeply study of the genus Biatora.
