Palongzangbu watershed of the Sichuan-Tibet road is a part of national road G318,which is a main traffic life line to link up Tibet and mainland.The road passes through relatively developed area of Tibet,situated in the border zone,it occupies the important strategic significance for developing the economy of Tibet,strengthening national unity and ensuring the national security.However,due to the special natural environment and geological structural,mountainous disasters along this line,especially debris flow,to occur frequently.At the same time,this region develop a special oceanic glacier debris flow influenced by oceanic monsoon climate.Palongzangbu watershed is a key section of the Sichuan-Tibet railway in the 12th five-year plan of our country,along the debris flow disaster control line of the railway development.And damming river caused by maritime glacier debris flow is a problem which has never been encountered in China's railway history.Through the filed investigations of Palongzangbu watershed and the analysis of the historical data collected about the Palongzangbu watershed,GIS technology is used to establish the geographic information system of the highway along the debris flow disasters in the study area.And we use the system to make evaluation on zone of risk,to provide decision support for safe operation of the highway and the Sichuan-Tibet railway in the future.The main research includes the following aspects:(1)We have established the technical framework of information management system of debris flow in the Palongzangbu watershed,and put forward that the management system should have two main function modules:graphic database module and attribute database module.These two modules include the basic information of the road along the river,the geological and topographical information,the glacier and the ice lake,the distribution and attribute information of the debris flow.(2)On the basis of the investigation of the geological disasters form Ranwu to Lulang along the G318 highway,we integrated the spatial geographic information,which is highway route,along the debris flow and earthquake information,and all kinds of text,pictures,video and other information.we have completed the general design of information management system for debris flow disaster in Palongzangbu watershed using ArcGIS,VB and Microsoft Access.This system includes system data organization and database design,system function and architecture design,interface design,etc.(3)The spatial analysis function of ArcGIS is used to analyze the instance,extracting risk evaluation index which affect landslide,debris flow and other disaster.The paper uses the analytic hierarchy process(AHP)to determine the index weight,and establishes risk assessment model.Finally,we apply fuzzy comprehensive evaluation combined with GIS technology to regional appraise about the risk of natural disaster of Kangding-Linzhi section in Sichuan-Tibet road and Polongzangbu watershed.
