Abstract/Summary:
India, Pakistan, and China are economically developing nations that have attempted to develop greater freedom from the strictures of military dependence by the development of domestic arms industries. Aside from the development of arms industries they have also sought to diversify their sources of imported arms for the same reason. In my thesis I address the nature of these developments and how they have created military instability in the Southeast and South Asian regions.
