While South Florida is experiencing a growing Asian presence, opportunities to learn about Chinese art and culture are limited. Miami is an international arts capital where diversified arts and culture productions are demanded. A strategy for introducing Chinese high (traditional) art and culture and establishing an China-US collaboration is needed to introduce local residents to the variety and richness this civilization offers. To do so, it is necessary to not only create a Chinese featured performing arts but to also provide educational workshops that lead to a better understanding of Chinese arts and culture. This study proposes to develop an action plan that addresses this need for performances and educational workshops that introduce traditional Chinese music. The plan will also contribute to an arts organizational collaboration between China and South Florida, which will be the first step leading to a full cultural exchange between China and the South Florida.
