| The effects of Relationship, Task, and Process conflict on overall job satisfaction, cognitive job satisfaction, affective job satisfaction, and perceived performance were investigated. Participants included 110 teachers and administrators from 2 Texas school districts. Survey packets included a revised intragroup conflict scale by Jehn (1995), measuring conflict types; a revised Job Satisfaction Survey by Spector (1985), measuring cognitive job satisfaction; and the Brayfield-Rothe Satisfaction Scale (1951), assessing affective job satisfaction. Overall job satisfaction consisted of the combination of the 2 satisfaction scales. The results indicate that each conflict type negatively affects overall and cognitive job satisfaction as well as perceived performance. Affective job satisfaction is not affected by the conflict types. These findings in education are consistent with similar research in other areas. |
