Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the operational functions related to the utilization of a vehicle garage. These functions are closely related to customer services and fleet administration, in order to determine efficiency in space utilization, staff and customer service.; The facilities planning process was performed to review the material flow, revealing inefficient utilization of space and the need to make changes in the fleet maintenance programs. Also, the results show inadequate commodity space (for lunch, clean, rest, etc) for the labor force working in the fleet section.; During the first weeks of the research, observations of employees in their duties revealed that there are problems in attitude and job performance. The research was conducted to establish recommendations to top managers so that they can enhance job performance. They must develop a human resources development program based on: values, evaluation of goals and enough budgets to establish training programs.; Through successful implementation of the proposals, the company will improve overall operations, offer on time services and a staff well motivated and focused to provide the best possible service.
