The learning of complex science concepts can be promoted by developing models that can help learners to understand processes involved in a scientific phenomenon. However, the development of these models is a delicate task because it involves the accurate representation the true nature of the target system, and the application of an appropriate learning theory. Current research describes digital tools as a media that has the potential for providing learners with multiple ways of representing and manipulating models. By using the photosynthetic process as a case study, this research developed models in order to understand the processes involved in their design and the implications offered in their visualization by using digital tools. |
