| This thesis explores the changes of video post-production when using non-linear technology. The research follows the descriptive and comparative methodology along with intensive interviews with non-linear editing editors. The descriptive sections concentrate on both linear and non-linear editing systems. The description id divided on two major areas: the technical aspects (related to the machine) and the creative aspects (related to the editor). The comparison between systems emerges from the descriptive sections and is outlined in a table listing the technical and creative differences.;To summarize the results of this research, the finding reveal no-linear systems as a welcomed technology that gives editors more creative freedom by reducing their involvement with technical issues. However, the essence of the editing process and the editor's creativity and abilities to make creative decisions remained unchanged. |
