This thesis investigates the simulation of the Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) routing protocol on UNIX operating systems.; Although work on Open Shortest Path First routing protocol has been done before, the present work is original in that it gives a precise interpretation of the notions of link state routing protocols and gives a better understanding of the same.; The last part of the thesis examines the future development in Open Shortest Path First routing protocols. It gives information about research work going on to design Open Shortest Path First for the next version of the Internet IPv6. |
