| The Rafael Mendez Library at Arizona State University houses music manuscripts, photographs, news clippings, concert programs, correspondence, instruments and personal effects of the trumpet virtuoso, Rafael Mendez. The items are on permanent loan from Mendez's sons, Drs. Rafael Jr. and Robert Mendez. A computer catalog of these items has been set up to facilitate the future research of Mendez's life and the performance of his music. The catalog is scheduled to be available on-line soon after the completion of this project. This research paper specifically covers the information regarding the photographs, concert programs, news clippings, and correspondence entered into the computer catalog. All pertinent and available information is included for each entry, with the expectation that more information will be added to the catalog as new facts come to light. |
