Abstract/Summary:
This thesis project is intended to open a new door of possibilities for wireless technology. Wireless communication is becoming so popular in this information age, and consumers are constantly looking for additional functions that can be performed with their wireless devices. Printing from a wireless device is a logical step to make in the advancement of wireless technology.;In addition to the wireless issues involved in this work, Web services technology is used to provide dynamic capabilities for printer discovery and use. By publishing printers as Web services, wireless users could seek out an available printer of their choice and invoke a print job on that particular printer. The technological concepts involved in this project are made possible by the advancements of Web technology over the past 10–15 years. The wireless printing capabilities achieved by this work would not have been possible five years ago.
