Abstract/Summary:
This project involves the grocery food retailers' Information Technology (IT) structure, physical structure, data transmission frequency, and data transmission options to third party vendors. It mainly focuses on the media and communication options that are available for a grocery food retailer to select in transmitting data. This document is structured in four major sections with several subsections:; Section 1 provides background information on the grocery food retailer Information Technology Environment.; Section 2 discusses the different retailer data transmission methods that are currently used. The main focus is on the grocery food retailer.; Section 3 discusses the retail Information Technology structure. The section is compiled of three subsections that define the retail size, data flow methods, and data flow frequency.; Section 4 revolves around the discussion of the competitive advantage for the various grocery food retailers based on the retailer's environment.
