Pervasive computing is a newly emerging technology that brings in new dimensions to the idea of distributed computing. Pervasive computing calls for the using of a wide variety of smart ubiquitous devices throughout our working and living environment. The objective of this thesis is to create a testing and prototyping environment for experimenting with mobile agents in pervasive environments. The mobile agent paradigm for distributed systems is inherently suitable for many applications ranging from network management to e-commerce. This thesis describes a prototype environment for a new proactive infrastructure for pervasive computing using mobile agents. In addition, this thesis explains a new algorithm for connection establishment and management (CEMA) between mobile agents for message passing. |
