With the development of the wireless network technology, the computing environment of network is also changing to the trational DCE model plus MCE model. The mobile environment, however, is facing new problems of limited network bandwidth, high error rates, resource scarcity of portable devices, etc. New and flexible network computing model and technology are needed to overcome these problems in mobile computing and to develop practical mobile applications.Mobile Agent(MA), compared with traditional C/S model, is a novel network computing paradigm, which has some attractive features, such as dynamic adaptability, heterogeneity, robusticity and fault tolerance. It can effectively reduce the network traffic and delay, and be independent of different network protocols as well as support mobile devices.As one part of the project "the study of architecture and key technologies of object-oriented mobile computing", the thesis explores how to build a dynamic and flexible network computing model in mobile environment with specially emphasis on the research of the feasibility in applying MA to the dynamic computing resource deployment model. The work of this thesis is significant to the development of application in mobile environment. Main contributions of the thesis are:First, we propose a MA-based dynamic resource deployment model.,which senses the changes of the environment, creates appropriate event EnvironmentEvent and activates corresponding functions. Application components may customize their moving policies by reloading these functions so as to realize dymanic deployment.Second, based on this model, we designed and implemented a Mobile Agent-based Multimedia Information Access system, called as MAMIA, which combines multimedia with mobile computing. Problems in the system development, such as the overall structure, functionality, and MA's composition, are deeply analyzed.
