Abstract/Summary:
In this thesis, we study questions related to a distributed virtual laboratory platform. This platform offers equipment shared by learner groups during a session. Each group member interacts with his teammates to achieve the given laboratory assignment. Within a group, members coordinate their actions and collaborate when working. But when composing separate groups, learners cooperate and help classmates, like in a conventional laboratory session.; After designing a global architecture of the platform, we study in detail two of its components: a collaborative multi-agent model and an electronic laboratory notebook repository. The model tackles how to manage a classroom subdivided into geographically distributed groups. In the same laboratory session, groups may work on different assignments. The repository is based on learning objects using LOM (Learning Object Metadata) and LIP (Learner Information Package).; During virtual laboratory experiment sessions, a major problem is how to collect, store, manage and share heterogeneous data (intermediate results, analysis, annotations,...) manipulated simultaneously by geographically distributed attendees composing each team. The electronic notebook is aimed to deal with. (Abstract shortened by UMI.)...
