Abstract/Summary:
The problem. The purpose of this study was to investigate the evolution of Japanese nationalism from its earlier periods to its modern-day situation.;Method. This study depended on a historical approach that was analytical in nature, with no comparisons. Evaluated, the study depended on primary and secondary findings of both Japanese and non-Japanese sources.;Results. The Japanese have always been aware of their distinct identities. The nature of nationalistic feelings was subject to great changes due to Japanese experiences, notably with other Asian as well as Western countries.
