Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this directed project was to develop web pages, under the umbrella of the Center for Community Engagement website, to promote interest and participation within California State University Long Beach, in a University affiliated aging in place Village model for the local community.;The goals were to (a) provide an overview of aging in place and the mission of the Beach Village, (b) increase awareness of the Beach Village within CSULB to promote interdisciplinary, intercultural and intergenerational learning, (c) provide an effective method to communicate aging in place and the Beach Village information to the CSULB community, and (d) enrich educational experiences and community engagement by promoting service-learning, internships and volunteerism in the Beach Village projects.;The web pages consist of nine sections: Home, Aging in Place, the Village Movement, CSULB and the Beach Village, the Beach Village, Services, Get involved, News, and Contact us pages.
