| The 2009 revision to the aerospace standard AS9110A, Quality Management Systems - Requirements for Aviation Maintenance Organizations requires substantial changes that must be implemented within a short timeframe. While these changes are major improvements to the standard, there is no established roadmap for implementation. A lack of guidance makes upgrading to the revision difficult for small maintenance, repair, and overhaul facilities that have limited resources. This project presents research clarifying new topics introduced in AS9110A. More importantly, it documents a successful upgrade of the existing quality management system at a small FAA certified repair station from AS9110:2003 to AS9110A. The result is a roadmap for successful transition to the new standard, along with concrete examples of implementation. |
