Abstract/Summary:
Students in the Masters of Arts in Leadership and Training program at Royal Roads University complete applied research. Although their research findings may have wide applicability, most students do not engage in scholarly communication after graduation. As a result, many of their important findings are not understood or adopted beyond their sponsoring organization. This study attempted to address this scholarly communication gap by creating a monograph with chapters authored by graduates. While graduates were keen to communicate their findings, most were not well versed in scholarly communication and the book project could not proceed. This study, then, became an examination of alternative approaches to scholarly publication of graduate students' extant research. A Publication Success Criteria was developed to guide future publication projects.
