| Until recently, client-server groupware applications have been designed for desktop clients. However, the dramatic increase in the use of mobile and wireless devices combined with the explosive growth of their power now requires the exploration of alternative clients implemented on devices such as PDAs and smart phones. The goal of this thesis is to provide the users of Collaborative Virtual Workspace (CVW) with a flexible way to access, communicate, and collaborate, using mobile devices. Towards this end, this thesis develops a Pocket PC rich client for the CVW.; This thesis presents the development process of a Pocket PC application as a CVW client, otherwise referred to it as the CVW rich client. Included is a discussion of the issues and challenges that arose through the development process. Finally, recommendations for future development and extensions are the last part of this thesis. |
