Research And Application Of The Rich Client Technology

With the rapid growth of Telecommunication Industry, the Telecom Operators have begun to pay more attention to build the Network Management System in order to have a favorable position in the fierce competition. Traditionally, the Speciality NMS runs independently and dispersedly, causing the decrease of the accuracy and timeliness of network management. Building a new Integrated Network Management System(INMS) platform is urgent.Traditional development technologies of the NMS client software have many limitations, they can't solve the new problems met in the development process of the INMS client. This paper makes a research and application of the emerging "Rich Client" technology. By using the .NET platform and Smart Client technology, this paper does a good work in designing and building a featured intelligent INMS client.This paper firstly introduces the problems currently faced in the network management and the need for building the INMS. Then it makes an analysis to the traditional development technologies of the NMS client software, and finds out their limitations.Secondly, it introduces the concept of "Rich Client" and several popular and mature development technologies, does a research about their design theories and compares their characters.Finally, according to the customer's specific requirements, it gives a real design about the general architecture of INMS client, and makes true the intelligent system maintenance and update function based on the .NET platform and Smart Client technology.The last part of the paper exhausts some deficiencies in the design, and gives an expectation to the future of "Rich Client".
