This paper combines characteristics of several known cryptosystems to produce a cryptosystem which is stronger than each of the original systems in terms of security. The strategy is to take the basic structure of the Massey-Omura cryptosystem and to equip it with a polyalphabetic character. The protocol of Hill's cryptosystem serves as the model to provide this aspect. The third cryptosystem used as a model is the RSA cryptosystem which is well-known for its success in providing security in the transmission of encoded messages. Finally, the RSA parameters are also used to provide a digital signature, adding an entirely different dimension of security to the system. |
