The main sections of this paPer are as followed:In the first chaPter, some basic concepts and terms of cryptology are introduced, including the classification of cryptology, the sttucture of a typical cryptosystem, themethods of cryptograPh analysis and classfy the cryptograPh algorithIns usingdifferent methods. In the second chaPter, some conunon used cryptograPh algorithIns are introduced, including the algorithms used in synunetric cryptosystem and asyrnmetriccryptosystem. We describe the theory of each algorithIns and compare the ellipticcurve cryPtosystem with the other two asyInmetrc cryPtosystems to show theadvantages of this algorithIn.In the third chaPter, we ifitroduce the theory of the elliptic curve cryptosystem indetail. Including the imPorting of the elliptic ctirve, the geometrical meaning of theoperation on the curve, the finite fie1ds and domain parameters on the curve. In the fOurth chaPter, we descirbe the aPplications of the elliptic curve. We aPplythe ElGamal and DSA algorithm on the curve, and give the method of data encryption, data decryption and data signatuxe based on the elliptic curve. In the fifth chaPter, we ifitroduce the implementing of the cryptosystem.Including the key problems in designing the program and the methods to solve them.Last we describe the functions of the system in briefIn the sixth chaPter, we introduce the cryptograPh protocol and the sollltion ofsome typical cryptosystems.
