Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this study was to examine satisfaction levels and perceived benefits among Korean Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) participants. The sample included 31 Korean American elders aged 65 and older who attended a Korean ADHC for at least 1 year. The study utilized a cross-sectional quantitative survey research design and a translated self-administered questionnaire.;Results showed high levels of overall program satisfaction and agreement with perceived benefits due to receiving services at the ADHC. However, levels of satisfaction with social work services and activity services were significantly higher than with PT/OT (Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy) services.;The Korean ADHC program is an essential long-term care service to enable fragile Korean older adults to maintain optimal overall health and enhance cultural and linguistic connectedness. Social workers can support the quality of lives of ethnic minority elders by increasing their awareness of the effectiveness of ADHCs and by engaging in advocacy for their continuation.
