| This project examined the correlation between Human papillomavirus (HPV) knowledge survey scores and various characteristics from a convenience sample of nursing students at California State University Long Beach. The purpose was to assess if students understood the correct pathogenesis of HPV as it relates to modes of transmission, and suggest a remedy for insufficient knowledge.;ANOVA and t tests were used in order to analyze and compare HPV knowledge scores amongst males versus females, married versus single, undergraduates versus graduates, and various ethnic categories. Findings demonstrated a significant difference (p = 0.049 ) between males and females, revealing male nursing students had superior HPV knowledge. No significant difference was determined when comparing married versus single (p = 0.328), undergraduates versus graduates (p = 0.938), or ethnic categories (Sig. = 0.941). Future research is necessary to further distinguish the link between HPV knowledge and various characteristics of nursing students. |
