Abstract/Summary: | |
The Low Temperature, low Thermal Energy Carrier (LoTEC (c)) is intended to carry temperature sensitive payloads to and from the International Space Station (ISS). The LoTEC(c) is designed to maintain a narrow temperature band within its payload volume for an extended period of time with no electrical power input.; Maintaining this temperature range for an extended period requires very efficient use of insulative materials to minimize the thermal transfer from the environment into the payload volume. The total power loss due to thermal conduction and radiation through the cross-section of the LoTEC(c) is calculated using I-DEAS(c) TMG modeling environment. This heat transfer is compared to experimental results for LoTEC(c) . |
