Performance appraisal feedback methods and their influence on future behaviors

Abstract/Summary:
This study investigated ways in which performance feedback is delivered and the influence the feedback delivery methods have on future behaviors such as performance. A student sample of college students in a regional midwest state university was used for data collection to test the hypotheses. This research did not find support for the concept that the method in which feedback is delivered affects future performance, although additional findings suggest many factors influence the feedback process. The findings of this research suggests for future research to consider the individual opinions and beliefs employees possess and how these factors influence the feedback process involving a supervisor and employee.
