Stretchable Thin-Film electronics which are mechanically reinforced by interconnected nanocomposite elastomers of high quality metallic nanowires deliver conducting paths for electronics. Due to the mechanical properties of the networked nanowires, the resistance against crack and edge delamination was improved. Theoretical and experimental studies demonstrates its enhancement in stretchability, adhesion to skin and resistance against crack generation and propagation. Such nanocomposite elastomer structures mechanically strengthened with networked nanocomposite can be fabricated into a class of biomedical devices capable of electrophysiological monitoring via the skin. |
