Abstract/Summary:
This work considers the strategic value of the 1935 London Naval Conference to the British Admiralty, and its role in the decline of British seapower. It addresses the views of Paul Kennedy and Corelli Barnett on interwar naval arms control. A revisionist school of thought has countered those views in the context of previous naval conferences, and this work has sought to extend the analytical methods of these authors to the 1935 conference.
