Abstract/Summary:
One of the most important factors that determine the profitability of a project and the competitiveness of a construction company as a whole is the availability of full and correct data about ongoing activities on the construction site, since managers rely on such data in their decision making. It is not only the data itself that is of interest, but also how soon it can be delivered to the decision maker.;In this research, the Radio Frequency Identification technology is applied as an aid-technology for automated data collection of cyclic processes in construction. The capabilities of the RFID technology in the conditions of the construction site environment are investigated, and the feasibility of RFID applications in construction is discussed.
