Hailed by some for its ability to overshadow the present day barcode as well as track objects, RFID technology is also ridiculed by many others for reasons that include very little security, minimal privacy, and ethical and legal issues. While RFID has the potential to change the way we interact with items on a day-to-day basis, without proper attention, regulation, and security, this technology could prove to be a key that opens Pandora's box. |
