Abstract/Summary:
In Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system, while placing the frames orthogonally, there is a downside of Inter-Carrier Interference (ICI). This problem can be overcome by Parallel Cancellation (PC) scheme. In this work, the concept of Parallel Cancellation is used for multipath transmitter and receiver communication situation to decrease the Bit Error Rate (BER) for highly noisy environment conditions. Along with this, the strategy of Forward Error Correction (FEC) and detection methods like convolutional encoding and Viterbi decoding are implemented. Before modulating the transmitted data, a convolutional encoder is used, and after demodulating the received data, a Viterbi decoder is used to reciprocate the function of the convolutional encoder. This FEC method will provide one more layer of protection for the data by detection and correction of errors in received data and provide an improvement in the signal quality.
