Abstract/Summary:
Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of blindness among older persons in the United States. It is problematic to distinguish whether vision loss is due to age or due to AMD. The following program for screening and tracking AMD was created in order to help medical professional and researchers more quickly identify patients with this disease, in order to provide treatment during its early stages. The problem was scaling Yi-Zhong Wang's original program to cover more area. An algorithm has been developed in order to scale Yi-Zhong Wang's original program of two circles and scale it to nine circles while creating a minimal increase in the time it will take for a patient to complete the program. The proposed framework will allow a complete implementation of the research of Dr. Wang in the area of age-related macular degeneration.
