| The purpose of this thesis is to help explain why the United States invaded Iraq in March 2003. Specifically, I will be testing three prominent approaches to the study of foreign policy in order to determine which offers the superior explanation. By comparing the power of classical realism, neoclassical realism, and constructivism, it will be possible to uncover causes of the war and utility of each. By viewing the Iraq war from each perspective, it is possible to understand how and why the conflict began. |
