Given the lack of a solid social analysis of the phenomenon of international organizations, this study is an endeavor to bridge this gap and provide a rational approach to the understanding of this field. Being obsessed with the realist theories of power and security, international relation's research is still deficient in terms of the legal and social analysis. In this thesis, we try to approach international organizations as a social actor compared to the basic actor, the state. In addition, rational approach of a general theory of international politics will be advanced based on the realist and liberal approach. International organizations are important actors in current international politics. The topic deserves more attention in an interconnected world since bilateral cooperation on a state to state basis is strongly complemented by multilateral cooperation within international organizations. |
