his study attempted to determine the economic impacts of chronic wasting disease on hunters in Alberta, for at a study region along its Eastern to South-Eastern border. Choice behaviour was modelled using a nested logit model with disease prevalence, culling of deer herds, and provision of extra hunting tags as the main attributes, and both stated preference and revealed preference data were collected. Hunters were found to be negatively affected by the disease and culling of the herds but positively affected by extra tags. A comparison of objective vs. perceptive measures was completed using the nested logit model: no large differences were found. Simulations altering potential disease prevalence and management programs were created and welfare assessments were completed.
