Abstract/Summary:
This work utilizes the history of the presence of the eucalyptus in California, and the current debates that it still generates. As a meta-example, it suggests some tentative indications for those who, at any level of involvement and self-awareness, will approach the vast and articulate issues related to the determination and formation of our common landscape at large: its future shapes, images, and functions.;This story of the eucalyptus in California, and the mutations of its perception within the social and cultural milieu, is certainly exemplary. This work provides, through some specific case studies, any potential professional landscaper with some tools to develop a coherent and balanced approach to the decision-making process.
