Eucalyptus maideni(Eucalyptus maidenii F.V.Muell.) belongs to Myrtaceae Eucalyptus genus. Up to date, there are relatively few discussions on Eucalyptus maideni at home and abroad. In this thesis, the experimental studies are mainly given on the following three respects, which provide a theoretical basis for the development and utilization of the Eucalyptus maideni, as well as for the formulation of its quality standards.1. Research on identification of the Eucalyptus maideni leavesA detailed and comprehensive study of Eucalyptus maideni leaves was conducted based on its origin,micro-character and physicochemical properties. The identification results are obtained.2. Content of extract, moisture, total ash and heavy metals determination of Eucalyptus maideni leavesContent of extract, moisture, total ash, acid-insoluble ash, heavy metals of Eucalyptus maideni leaves were determined. The content limits were listed as below: the extract is not lower than25.00%, moisture is not more than9%, the total ash is not more than5.0%, acid insoluble ash is not more than0.3%, and the heavy metals content is lower than20parts per million(ppm). 3. Preliminary study on the acute toxicity test and pharmacodynamics for water decoction of Eucalyptus maideniThe maximum tolerance dose of water decoction of Eucalyptus maideni leaves is1.11g/ml, ie.44.4g/kg for mice. If calculated using the middle value12.5g of adult (50kg) dose10~15g, the maximum tolerance dose of Eucalyptus maideni leaves for mice is178times the adult dosage. The results indicate that the clinical use of the medicine has a large safe range. In addition, the anti-inflammatory analgesic effects of Eucalyptus maideni leaves water extract were also preliminarily investigated. The results show that the Eucalyptus maideni leaves has certain inflammatory and analgesic effects.4. Determination of the volatile oil composition of Eucalyptus maideni leaves and Eucalyptus leaves by GC-MS, which is reliable and provides a reference for the control of the herbs quality of Eucalyptus maideni leaves.According to the experimental results above, a medicinal quality of standards draft was developed for Eucalyptus maideni leaves, and the corresponding drafting instructions were also provided.
