Many voices, theories, and references: The process of designing 'Into the Woods'

As information and new media become more accessible, how does modern scenic design maintain relevance? Before beginning the design process for Into the Woods, the intent was to discover a new theatrical and visual language in order to engage a modern audience in the spectacle that is theatre. The scenic design referenced post-modern theory and its ability to tell stories in response to knowledge that already exists.
