Inbound tourism is an important part of tourism.It has become one of the important signs to measure the level of tourism in a country with the development of the times,so inbound tourism has been paid more and more attention to.The development of inbound tourism cannot only help raise the popularity of a place,but also is one of the best methods for local economic development under the guidance of the green development concept today.Dunhuang city,as one of the first group of China’s Historical and Cultural cities,has gained great potential in the development of tourism because of its rich cultural heritage.Therefore,it values so much to figure out how to increase the inbound tourist flow in Dunhuang and expand the source market for the rapid development of the city’s tourism.This paper takes the inbound tourist source market in Dunhuang as the research object.According to the data in China Tourist Statistical Yearbook,Dunhuang Statistical Yearbook and the official website of the National Bureau of Statistics,the paper obtains the market base and competitiveness of the main source market by analyzing the development of the main inbound source market in Dunhuang with Shift-share Method from 2009 to 2018.Then,people can judge the development of the main source market in Dunhuang in the past ten years,sum up the characteristics and problems of each source market,and further provide corresponding recommendations for the development of inbound tourism in Dunhuang according to the results.The thesis consists of the following six parts:The first part is an introduction.It expounds the background of the topic,the research purpose and significance,methods and ideas,and innovation points and difficulties.Besides,it also makes a brief description of the analyzing framework and technical route in the paper.The second part is a review of research,mainly based on the domestic and foreign research literature,especially in the inbound tourism market research.The author has concluded the current research characteristics of domestic inbound tourism market and the achievements and progress of inbound tourism market in Dunhuang in recent years.By doing so,it is expected that essence can be drawn and the shortcomings can be avoided.The third part focuses on the SSM(Shift-share Method)model adopted in the study,including the principle of building the model and the improvement of the model.The fourth part is based on the authoritative department statistics and files,using SSM model to analyze the collected data so as to obtain the structure of the inbound tourist source market in Dunhuang.The samples of the source include a total of seventeen source market samples from fourteen countries and three Chinese regions.The countries are Japan,Singapore,the United States,the United Kingdom,Germany,France,Italy,Australia,Malaysia,Canada,South Korea,Thailand,Switzerland,and New Zealand.The three Chinese regions are Hong Kong,Macao,and Taiwan.Taking Dunhuang City as a regional sample and the whole country as a large-scale reference system,the total amount of growth of tourist source market in Dunhuang over a period of time has been divided into share components,structure transfer components and competitiveness transfer components for market trend analysis with the help of Shift-share Method.Then,it leads to the structure and evolution of the inbound tourist market in Dunhuang City.The author can summarize the law of the evolution of the inbound source market in Dunhuang,demonstrate the change of its inbound tourist source,and position inbound tourist source market in this city.On the basis of in-depth research and SSM analyzing of inbound tourism market in Dunhuang,the fifth part tries to do marketing objectives positioning of the inbound tourism in Dunhuang and to point out inbound tourism market direction of the city.The sixth part is the conclusion part of this paper.It mainly summarizes the study results of the inbound tourism market in Dunhuang city,analyzes the shortcomings in the research results of this paper,and looks forward to the future research direction.
