Implementation Of Process Management In Manufacturing Industries | Posted on:2020-01-17 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | Institution:University | Candidate:Atem David DAU | Full Text:PDF | GTID:2439330623951034 | Subject:Industrial Engineering | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | In the 21st centuries since the industrial revolution and global competition and customer’s satisfaction requirements,companies are moving towards quality focused on process improvement,machines have taken over more of manufacturing processes previously done by hands.The world’s manufacturing industries enforced standardization of methods,enforced adaptation of the best implements and quality assurance,and cooperation in order to improve efficiency.Management aspects and technological advancement are changing speedily and in order to maintain and survive the future competition in global era,success companies focus on process management to assure quality.The research examined the methodologies,the critical success factors of process management between the manufacturing industries.The differences in term of improvement factors across the managers of participating companies and determined the challenges that face implementation process.This study was designed using a process of research design and analysis.This thesis studying implementation of process management concepts in manufacturing industries,a comparative study of three manufacturing industries conducted in order to determine successful practice and facilitate implementation process.A single method design was used to collect qualitative data.The research data was collected using several procedures including empirical studies,survey(closed and open questions)and interviews.This thesis reviewed relevant literature papers which focused on process management implementation.Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 11 managers of the three case manufacturing industries in China and South Sudan who are working in particular position in relations to process management.From the discussions and analysis,this research revealed there are differences across the case study companies in order to determine the process implementations success and there are also differences across management levels concerning enablers for process management implementation concepts.From the analysis there are 6 methodologies to improve the process management and 8 critical success common factors for successful process management found across case study industries.The research also investigated the obstacles that affected process management in manufacturing sector.Finally,this study has provided recommendations for the case companies to implement process management and avails suggestions for further research. | Keywords/Search Tags: | Process, management, quality, tools, CSFs implementation | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
