Research On The Mechanism Of Land Expansion In Chengdu From The Perspective Of Growth Machine Theory

A city is a space in which population,resources,and environment are fused together and can interact with each other.With the development of time,the city's components are very complex,and the scope of coverage is also very wide.The carrier of the city is the land on which we live,and land is also an important resource for our sustainable development.With the further development of human social activities and the economy,the way of using land is constantly changing.Nowadays,the urbanization of society has played a good role in promoting the development of the overall economy,and at the same time,it has further promoted the general expansion of the size of the city.Especially after entering the 21 st century,most of the well-developed cities in China have appeared The rapid growth of the overall land use area of the city.First of all,this paper combs the relevant literature and the process of urban planning and land expansion in Chengdu,analyzes the speed of land expansion in Chengdu by calculating the urban land expansion coefficient,and analyzes the change of urban land structure in Chengdu.Secondly,based on the original growth machine theory,this paper establishes an analysis framework in combination with China's national conditions,adding the vertical national strategic layout mechanism and the horizontal competition mechanism between cities.Taking Chengdu as an example,this paper analyzes the land expansion mechanism of China's national central cities.Using SPSS 22.0 software to analyze the relevant panel data of Chengdu in the past 20 years,and compared with the relevant data of the National Central City,the main conclusions are as follows: 1.The financial revenue of Chengdu is highly dependent on the land,and the increasing financial pressure makes the urban land expansion.2.The growth machine is formed in Chengdu.The local government forms a growth alliance with real estate developers and some local enterprises through the establishment of investment platform companies.In the process of pursuing economic development,the increase of land demand leads to the continuous expansion of urban land use.3.As one of the national central cities,the comprehensive functions of Chengdu's western economic center and transportation hub,as well as its important position in the western development strategy,have resulted in the land demand of Chengdu in the process of construction,leading to the expansion of urban land.4.There is a competition between GDP and fiscal revenue between Chengdu and other local governments.Because the GDP and fiscal revenue of each city are closely related to the scale of urban land,the economic competition between cities can promote the expansion of urban construction land.At the same time,the increased financial pressure caused by the competition indirectly increases the demand for urban land.Finally,based on the analysis results,this paper gives some suggestions and the shortcomings of the paper.
