A Study Of China's Economic Diplomacy Towards Pakistan Under The Background Of The "Belt And Road Initiative"

At present,globalization is facing huge challenges,and the imbalance of global economic governance is becoming increasingly prominent.In this context,economic diplomacy,as an important part of one country’s diplomacy,can help countries participate more actively in global economic governance and make global economic development more balanced.Since the beginning of the 21st century,China’s economic diplomacy has developed rapidly,and has increasingly become an important part of China’s diplomacy.Pakistan is China’s all-weather strategic partner and a key target country for China’s economic diplomacy with neighboring countries.China’s economic diplomacy to Pakistan is rich and diverse,including trade diplomacy to promote trade facilitation,bilateral trade,and give full play to the comparative advantages of the two countries,as well as expanding the scale of direct investment in Pakistan and optimizing the structure of direct investment in Pakistan.Investment diplomacy also includes aid diplomacy,such as changing aid concepts and optimizing aid methods.The "Belt and Road" economic cooperation initiative is a high-level opening-up measure proposed by China.Since the introduction of the “Belt and Road” initiative,China’s economic diplomacy towards Pakistan has developed rapidly.Policy coordination,connectivity of infrastructure,unimpeded trade,financial integration and closer people-to-people tie have been fully launched.The integration into the overall framework of the "Belt and Road" has promoted pragmatic cooperation and economic development between the two countries.In terms of policy communication,leaders of the two countries exchanged frequent visits,and development strategy communication was smooth.In terms of finance and infrastructure connectivity,the two sides have signed huge investment projects on the basis of equality and reciprocity,and investment flows have also increased steadily,with investments covering infrastructure,industrial areas and other areas.In terms of unimpeded trade,the scale of trade between the two countries has continued to expand,and bilateral trade policies have continued to open.In terms of mutual understanding,the two countries attach importance to cultural exchanges and continuously strengthen mutual political trust.In the context of the "Belt and Road",China’s economic diplomacy towards Pakistan also faces challenges,and China-Pakistan economic cooperation faces economic and political risks.In this regard,China and Pakistan should further promote humanities and communications,and consolidate the public opinion foundation of economic cooperation between the two countries;strengthen policy communication and media publicity,and jointly create a safe space.China and Pakistan should further promote trade flow and play the role of trade to promote economic growth To build a China-Pakistan community of shared destiny.
