As global supply chains become more and more complex,how can business managers actively respond to changes in various factors that affect the company's future performance,how to make scientific and rational decisions on key and important issues,and in particular,try to find out What products to make? When to make? How many to make? How much inventory is maintained and where to keep these products,etc.? Supply chain practitioners are getting more and more tricky between balancing the risk of stock-outs and sales performance and trying to stop large stocks from taking up a lot of money and the risk of potentially slow sales or obsolete products.Sales and operations planning(S & OP)has proven to be a popular and effective way to bring controllable and predictable processes to product planning.Its purpose is to help the company to take a global perspective,better meet customer needs,efficiently integrate internal and external resources of the enterprise,and improve the operational efficiency of the enterprise,so that the company's production capacity,profitability and comprehensive competitiveness can reach a new height.This article focuses on manufacturing enterprises,especially domestic small and medium-sized enterprises.Through the use of sales and operations planning(S & OP),companies can fully realize the balance between demand and supply in internal operations,further improve operating efficiency and reduce operating costs,and efficiently utilize internal and external resources to improve productivity and profitability,thereby helping companies better meet market demand and maintain a competitive advantage in globalized market competition.The first chapter of this paper introduces the related theoretical research of S & OP,the five major operating processes,the forecasting methods and production planning models used in operating S & OP,and briefly describes the research objects,methods and technical routes of this paper.The second chapter introduces the development history of H Company and the operating problems it faces.The third chapter analyzes the three major problems of H Company in detail and concludes that the root cause of the current operating difficulties in H Company is the imbalance between supply and demand.The fourth chapter introduces the specific plan of H Company to optimize it from the five major operation steps of S & OP.The fifth chapter introduces the guarantee measures taken by H Company to ensure that the new S & OP optimization plan can be smoothly advanced and shows the operation effect of H company before and after S & OP optimization.Finally,this paper systematically summarizes the thoughts about the optimization research of S & OP of H Company and prospects the application of S & OP in Chinese enterprises in the future.
