Research On The Evolution Characteristics And Dynamic Mechanism Of Furniture Industry Cluster In Nankang,Jiangxi Province

Since the reform and opening up,industrial clusters have emerged in many places in China in various forms such as "professional town" and "block economy",which have made important contributions to the improvement of productivity level and regional development in China.Under the new normal,industry is required to develop in the mode of intensive,specialized and collaborative.Industrial cluster is becoming an important organizational form of regional economic development and an important carrier of enterprise growth in China.However,the rapid development of economic globalization has changed the traditional trade mode,and the development of industrial clusters is facing the opportunities and challenges of transformation and upgrading.In the study of industrial clusters,foreign studies pay more attention to the discussion of cluster theory and the proposal of new concepts,while domestic studies often apply western theories to domestic empirical studies,ignoring the differences between Chinese and western social and economic backgrounds.In addition,the research on the evolution of domestic industrial clusters focuses more on the export-oriented industrial clusters in the coastal developed areas relying on foreign investment,while the attention on the endogenous traditional manufacturing industrial clusters in the underdeveloped areas is still insufficient.In this paper,Nankang furniture industry cluster in Jiangxi Province,an underdeveloped inland province,is selected as a case study.From the perspective of multi factor and multi mechanism collaborative evolution,through in-depth interviews with relevant government departments and enterprises,the emergence and growth process of the cluster is depicted,and the influencing factors and dynamic mechanism of the cluster evolution are deeply dissected.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The evolution of Nankang furniture industry cluster can be divided into three stages: germination,growth,transformation and upgrading.Each stage presents different stage characteristics in spatial distribution pattern,industrial chain,policy control and so on.It shows the evolution of production place of "workshop factory standardized workshop" and the growth track of "order production imitation manufacturing independent design".From weak to strong in the strength of cluster connection,from simple geographical space to cooperative network relationship,basically realizing the transformation from acquaintance network dominated by kinship to technological innovation cooperative network dominated by industry.(2)The evolution process of Nankang furniture industry cluster has the synergism of many factors.First,in the embryonic stage of the cluster,the main factors for the emergence and diffusion of furniture industry are specific regional culture,sufficient local production factors,entrepreneurship and open institutional policy environment.Second,in the growth stage of the cluster,the standardized management of local government,the driving of key leading enterprises and the non-governmental service agencies promote the rapid growth of Nankang furniture industry.Among them,the standardized management of local government is the key force.A series of measures are introduced to standardize the development of furniture enterprises from scattered family workshops to a unified Park,and the key leading enterprises drive cluster innovation.Between the government and the enterprises,the non-governmental service organizations supplement the government's management function,which is the guarantee of the cluster growth.Third,in the stage of cluster transformation and upgrading,the government is the core force to promote cluster upgrading.The government has issued policies for transformation and development.On the one hand,the government has strengthened the construction of hard environment such as ports,standard factories,home towns,etc.,on the other hand,it has optimized the development of soft environment,and has introduced awards and compensation measures in collective trademark declaration,introduction of design talents.(3)In terms of evolution mechanism,government policy is the key force to promote the evolution of clusters,which runs through the whole process of cluster development;leading enterprises become the object of cluster path dependence and the main body of path creation;clusters are deeply rooted in the local regional culture of Nankang,and the local entrepreneurship is an important force to promote knowledge spillover and diffusion.There are two main innovations in this study.The first is the innovation of topic selection.This study selects the traditional manufacturing industry cluster in underdeveloped areas as a case study,and analyzes the evolution of the cluster under the background of economic globalization,which can enrich the theoretical results of industrial cluster to a certain extent.The second is to build a multi-level collaborative evolution analysis framework of traditional manufacturing clusters.From the perspective of evolution,this paper focuses on the whole process of interaction between industrial clusters and local factors of production in various stages from germination to transformation.
