A Study Of Agricultural Products Trade Potential In China And Mongolia

The implementation of the "Belt and Road" initiative has brought new opportunities for economic cooperation between China and Mongolia.China is a large agricultural country,Mongolia is a kingdom of animal husbandry.Agricultural trade is an important area of cooperation between the two countries.In recent years,China's imports of animal skins from Mongolia accounted for a large proportion of imports,while meat products accounted for no more than 10%of imports;China's exports of agricultural products to Mongolia only accounted for Mongolia's total imports of agricultural products at around 20%,it seems that China-Mongolia agricultural trade still has potential.In order to study the potential of China and Mongolia agricultural product trade,this paper first uses the RCA and TCI to identify the competitiveness andco-mplementarity of agricultural products between China and Mongolia,finds that the two countries have stable and competitive agricultural products.On this basis,this paper constructs a SFGM to conduct empirical analysis on panel data of 29 countries from 2009 to 2018.The results show that the GDP of China andMongolia and the common border between China and Mongolia play a role inpromoting the impo-rt and export trade.China-Mongolia distance hinders importand export trade,and population has different effects on import and export trade;China-Mongolia agricultural trade is also affected by inefficiences such as tradefreedom and government int-egrity;On the whole,both imported and exportedagricultural products have potential,but export potential is greater than importpotential;From the product level,theexport potential of animal products has de-veloped from "huge potential" to "potential development" in the past decade,and there is some room for development;the ex-port potential of processed agricultural products,horticultural products and cereals and oilproducts is very large.The government should explore the market in Mongolia;textile raw materials are "potential remodeling".At this time China's potential for exporting textile raw materials to Mongolia has been fully developed.Positive factorsof trade need to be recreated to increse export potential.Finally,based on the analysis results,suggestions are put forward from the establishment of free trade zones,the useof superior geographical location and the trade of complementary products.
