A Research On The Relationship Between Environment And Economic Development In Hubei Province

Since the 18 th CPC National Congress,General Secretary Xi stressed that "green water and green mountains are golden mountains and silver mountains",We are required to coordinate the relationship between human and nature,open up a path of environment-friendly development,To a large extent,a reasonable mode of economic growth can make the path of sustainable development of economy and environment go more smoothly.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to study the relationship between economy and environment,and then,according to the research conclusions,some effective proposals for the transformation of economic growth mode,environmental protection and pollution control can be put forward.This paper selects the time series data related to environment and economy in Hubei Province for 26 years since 1993,measures the economic level by GDP per capita,and takes the emission of industrial waste as the environmental index to measure the local environmental pollution,including the emission of industrial waste water(FS),industrial waste gas(FQ),industrial sulfur dioxide(SO2)and industrial solid waste Quantity(FG),a bivariate VAR model of the above environmental indicators and per capita GDP indicators was established.In order to eliminate the dimensional difference,the selected index data is treated with logarithm,and then the row stability of time series is tested.The impact response of Hubei economy and environment to each other is analyzed by using generalized impulse response function,and the mutual influence degree between the two is studied.The Granger causality test is applied to judge whether the economic development and environmental pollution lead to each other.The reason of the change is to study whether the two are the cause of the change of each other.Then we use SPSS statistical software to make curve regression analysis of various environmental indicators and economic indicators to test whether the EKC curve exists.According to the results of VAR model test,it shows that there is a continuous co integration relationship between economic growth and environmental pollution in Hubei Province,and the change of per capita GDP will cause the change of environmental quality,the increase of per capita GDP will cause the increase of environmental pollution,the change of environmental quality will not cause the change of per capita GDP,the increase of environmental pollution will not cause the increase of per capita GDP,but will hinder the growth of per capita GDP.However,the negative impact of the environment on the economy will take some time to show,with a certain lag effect.Through the study on the existence of EKC,it can be seen that the shape ofthe curve has a lot to do with the selection of environmental indicators.The EKC performance of different environmental indicators is inconsistent,including inverted "N" curve and "U" curve,and the same curve may be in different shapes at different periods,resulting in similar "U",inverted "U" or monotonous curve.
